The schedule has been confirmed for this year's International Basketball Federation (FIBA) EuroBasket Women tournament in the Czech Republic.

Competition will take place in both capital Prague and Hradec Kralove between June 16 and 25 with the group stage fixtures now set in stone.

Action will begin on June 16 when Belarus take on Italy at Hradec Kralove Arena in Group B, with Belgium then facing Montenegro in Group D at Prague's Kralovka Arena.

All 16 teams will be in action on day one, with hosts Czech Republic opening Group A by taking on Ukraine in Hradec Kralove.

Hungary will play Spain in the second Group A fixture at the same venue, with Serbia meeting Greece in the first Group C fixture.

Slovenia and France will play the second Group C match in Prague.

In Group B, Turkey will play Slovakia while Russia will play Latvia in Group D.

Discussions were held between the host nation and FIBA broadcast partners to help decide how the fixtures will fall.

Group play will conclude on June 20, with four pool winners advancing straight to the quarter-finals.

Countries finishing second and third will enter play-offs to reach the last eight.

The final will be played in Prague on June 25.

Serbia are the defending champions after they won the 2015 edition in Hungary and Romania.

They overcame France in the final, 76-68, with the two countries going on to meet again in the Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medal contest in August.

The Serbians again triumphed to claim the third place on the podium, 70-63.

Europe also claimed the silver medal as Spain lost the final to Olympic champions the United States, 101-72.
