The 16-country line-up for this year's International Floorball Federation (IFF) Women's World Championships has been confirmed following qualification rounds taking place across the world.

Hosts Slovakia were automatically awarded a berth - with the competition taking place in Bratislava - to leave 15 places up for grabs.

Sweden, who will be looking for a sixth world title in a row, were one of 10 teams to qualify from Europe alongside rivals Finland, who they have beaten in three of the last four finals.

Switzerland, the 2005 champions, have also earned their place and will be joined by Czech Republic, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Norway, Denmark
and Estonia.

European qualifying competitions took place in Spanish capital Madrid and Celano in Italy.

Four countries have also qualified from the Asia/Oceania region - Japan, Australia, Singapore and Thailand - after a qualifier in New Zealand's capital Wellington.

The United States played two matches against Canada for the rights to be the North American representatives, with the US advancing after a victory and a draw.

Competition in Bratislava will take place between December 1 and 9 this year.
