Germany's Heidi Zacher claimed a home victory today at the international Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Cross World Cup in Feldberg.

Zacher crossed the line first to beat Swiss rival Fanny Smith in the German resort.

Sandra Naeslund of Sweden finished in third place.

It came in an eventful competition in which Canadian World Cup series leader Marielle Thompson crashed out and failed to finish.

Thompson's mammoth haul of 620 points still put her almost 200 clear of her nearest rival.

Smith lies second, on 423.00, with Zacher a further 10 back.
