Cieslar finished top of the standings after the 10 kilometres cross-country race and normal hill ski jumping competition.

It was perfect revenge for the 24-year-old who finished second to Russia's Viacheslav Barkov in the men's individual Gundersen earlier this week.

The Pole, who studies at the Higher School of Sport Coaches in Warsaw, dominated the ski jumping element to propel himself to gold at the Sunkar International Ski Jumping Complex.

After finishing second in the cross country race, at the Alatau Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon Complex, in a time of 22 min 56.6sec, Cieslar then finished third and and fifth in the first round and final of the ski jumping with scores of 62.8 and 59.7 to give him an overall score of 242.2 points.

Tobias Simon of Germany finished in second place, finishing 1.8 points short of Cieslar on 240.4.

Simon finished sixth in the cross-country race in 23:29.3, leaving him 8.2 points behind his Polish rival before the ski jumping element.

The German, who is a student at Furtwangen University, was unable to overturn the deficit as he took second place in the ski jumping final.

Go Sonehara of Japan completed the podium on 233.2.

Sonehard took sixth in the cross-country stage before finishing fourth in the ski jumping final.
