Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui opened the scoring in the 72^nd minute and Christian Bassogog confirmed the victory deep into injury time at the Stade de Franceville in Gabon.

They will now meet Egypt, who won yesterday’s semi-final against Burkina Faso, in Sunday’s (February 5) final.

The Black Stars have been looking to end a 35 year drought as tournament champions and were favourites going into the clash.

However, they found themselves against a very astute Cameroon side, who put in a defensive shift which cut off the threat of the Ayew brothers Jordan and Andre.

Cameroon would be rewarded for this display with 18 minutes remaining when a free kick from the right wing saw Ghanian goalkeeper Razah Brimah and defender John Boye miscommunicate, ending with neither really going for the ball.

This allowed Ngadeu-Ngadjui to get on the receiving end of the cross and fire home.

Ghana pushed bodies forward in search of an equaliser, but it did not come and their gung-ho approach was punished in with just a few seconds of the four minutes of added on time remaining.

After another attack failed, Cameroon, who have won the trophy four times, were able to break away and Bassogog, who was given the man-of-the-match award, coolly slotted a shot past Brimah.

On Saturday (February 4), Ghana will face Burkina Faso in the third place play-off.
