President Browne told the Daily Observer that LNOC is "determined to work to better Liberian sports and athletes, as well as administrators".

He called for "cooperation" with governing bodies of Olympic sports.

Liberia has never won a medal at the Olympic Games in its history.

The African country sent a team of two track and field athletes to Rio 2016 in August.

Sprinter Emmanuel Matadi competed in the men's 100 metres and 200m while Mariam Kromah appeared in the women's 400m.

The country reportedly considered withdrawing from the Games due to financial concerns and fears about the Zika virus.
