Elana Meyers Taylor secured her third consecutive victory of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup season as the American won the women's bobsleigh in Königssee, Germany.

Competing with her brakewoman Kehri Jones, Meyers Taylor negotiated the course in a time of 50.36sec to move to the top of the standings.

The 2015 world champion would preserve that position by clocking 50.65 in the final run, ending the event with an overall time of 1min 41.01sec.

Victory will provide the Americans with a confidence boost ahead of the World Championships, which are due to take place on the track from February 13 to 26.

“Königssee is a tricky track,” said Meyers Taylor, the Sochi 2014 Olympic silver medallist.

“The Kreisel curve here at Königssee is still my arch nemesis.

“I again struggled there today, however, our good start times were enough to secure the win.”

Fellow Americans Jamie Greubel Poser and Aja Evans were second in a time of 1:41.27, while the podium was completed by Germany’s Mariama Jamanka and Annika Drazek.

The European champions ended in a time of 1:41.67.

Canada’s Kaillie Humphries and Cynthia Appiah ended in fourth place, but retained the overall World Cup lead on 1,236 points, with Greubel Poser just 17 points behind.
