Pesaro 2017 have agreed a partnership with Havas Sports & Entertainment which will see the company drive sponsorship and communication targets for this year’s Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships.
The Championships, awarded to Pesaro by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) last year, will take place in Italy for the first time in their history.
Organisers hope the partnership with Havas Sports & Entertainment will help support their efforts in three key areas - sponsorship, social media and international public relations.
"We are particularly pleased to welcome the strategic partnership signed with Havas SE,” said Filippo Colombo, vice-president of Pesaro 2017.
“The organising committee needed to find an international advisor able to boost marketing and communications for an event of such complexity and size.
“Furthermore, thanks to the professionalism of Havas SE, it will be easier to secure additional business and media opportunities in the near future by implementing an integrated platform, which aims to make Italy and the Adriatic Arena the hosting venues for major international sporting events."
The Championships will be the first major event for many of the gymnasts since the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Competition is scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 3 in the 10,000 seat Adriatic Arena.
Organisers have claimed over 20,000 fans will attend the Championships, with coverage set to be broadcast live in 57 countries.
The Italian national team will hope to secure a medal in front of their home crowd, having narrowly missed out on bronze at Rio 2016 in the group all-round.
Federico Fantini, head of sport at Havas Sports & Entertainment, claimed the company were glad to be supporting the Championships.
"The partnership with Pesaro 2017 represents an important recognition of our capabilities in sport; the team of Havas SE is able to provide its advisory services in this rapidly changing and developing industry,” he said.
“We are glad to contribute to the success of such a prestigious event with extremely interesting features, both in terms of sports marketing and communications."
