Strathmore Water has been unveiled as the national supplier of bottled water for both the 2017 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships and the World Para-Athletics Championships in London.

More than one million bottles of the Scottish company’s water will be available at the London Stadium for athletes, officials, volunteers and all those attending the events.

All the water bottles are recyclable and recycling facilities will be provided at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park venue.

"We are delighted to have teamed up with Strathmore as the supplier of bottled water for next summer," Niels de Vos, Championship director of London 2017, said.

"It is vital for top class athletes to have easy access to water during training and competition to stay hydrated.

"Similarly, we want to ensure all those working hard to put on the Championships, whether paid or voluntary, remain healthy and hydrated, especially with many based outside in potentially warm temperatures."

Strathmore Water is bottled at the  source in the Vale of Strathmore, near Glamis Castle in Scotland, and has a long-standing reputation for supplying water to major mass participation events, including the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

"Strathmore already has a proud history of supporting sport nationally and internationally, and it’s incredibly exciting to be able to strengthen our association with sport by supporting the World Para-Athletics Championships and the IAAF World Championships London 2017," said Adrian Troy, marketing director for Scottish soft drinks maker AG Barr, whose brands include Strathmore Water.

"Hot off an incredible year for Team GB at the Rio Olympics, 2017 is set to be another scorcher for British sport and we can’t wait to play such an active role in it."

The World Para-Athletics Championships are scheduled for July 14 to 23, while the IAAF World Championships are set to take place from August 4 to 13.

It marks the first time both Championships will be hosted in the same city in the same year, with more than 3,000 athletes from more than 200 nations competing over 20 days of action at the Olympic Stadium in London.

More than one million ticket applications were entered into the ballot.

All available tickets are on sale now here, from £10 ($12.61/€11.76) for adults and £5 ($6.30/€5.88) for children.

It was claimed last month that the 2017 IAAF World Championships are set to become the best attended in the history of the event.
