This year’s European 10 metres Shooting Championship will be shown live on television across the continent as part of an agreement with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

The event in Maribor in Slovenia, due to run from March 6 to 12, will be available to those interested in screening the competition, with the host nation’s national public broadcaster – RTV Slovenija – arranging the production.

They will also be responsible for transmitting the signal to the EBU.

“This means that the TV companies of all the countries will be able to broadcast the competitions of the best European shooters, in the four 10m individual Olympic events as well as in the two mixed team events that have a perspective of becoming Olympic events very soon,” the European Shooting Confederation (ESC) said in a statement announcing the news.

Coverage is set to include the finals in men’s air pistol and women’s air rifle, scheduled for March 10, as well as rifle and pistol mixed team events the following day.

The semi-finals and finals of the mixed team events will also be shown, the ESC has confirmed.

Television companies interested in accessing coverage of the event in the Slovenian city must obtain written permission from the ESC and will have to pay “the applicable rates for the broadcasting rights on the territory of their country”.

The Audi Aréna in Győr, Hungary played host to the 2016 edition of the event, where Russian shooters won all but one of the available gold medals in the men’s competitions.

The 2017 European 10m Shooting Championships will feature pistol, rifle and running target events.

Finals are due to be held at the Hotel Habakuk, while qualification will take place at the Sport Center Draš.
