Norwegian Daniel Andre Tande has claimed his second Four Hills Tournament stage victory in a row after he won in tricky conditions in Innsbruck in Austria today.

After two smooth competitions at the German sites of Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the third leg of the 65th Four Hills Tournament was turbulent.

Constantly changing winds meant it took almost two hours to complete the first round.

Tande maintained his recent form though, jumping 128.5 metres and 125.7m to give him an overall score of 125.7 points.

"This was a really tough day for the jury, the conditions were extremely difficult," said Tande.

"I made the best out of my jump and of course I was also lucky with the conditions.

"On a day like today you can't win without the luck.

"I was hoping for a second round with equal conditions for all the jumpers, but ski jumping is an outdoor sport and so you have to live with what you get, you can't choose the conditions you want."

Another Norwegian, Robert Johansson, and Russia's Evgeniy Klimov, came in second and third respectively.

Johansson produced efforts of 133m and 123.1m, giving him a combined score of 123.1 points, while Klimov earned 119.1 points through jumps of 127m and 119.1m.

Following his win today and his first place at the second stage of the tournament in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Tande now leads the tournament standings by 1.7 points from Poland's Kamil Stoch who has finished in second twice and has a fourth place to his name.

Slovenia's Domen Prevc once again enjoyed a torrid day on the hill.

The 17-year-old finished in 25th place and, when added to his 26th place opening performance and fifth place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, currently lies in 14th place.

Perhaps more worryingly for Prevc will be the fact that he has now surrendered his overall International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup lead to Tande.

The Norwegian now sits atop the leaderboard on a total of 632 points while Prevc lies back in second on 596.

Stoch occupies third place overall on 533.

Following the conclusion of today's competition, the ski jumpers now head to Bischofshofen, another Austrian hill, for the final stage of the tournament.

Qualifying takes place tomorrow (January 5) before the final takes centre stage on Friday (December 6).
