Bosses at the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) have announced an extended partnership with Blue Diamond Almonds.

The deal, in conjunction with Crown Sports United, will see the company, who are the world’s leading almond brand, work with the USSA’s director of high performance and high performance dietitian to incorporate their products into snacks and meals at the USSA Center of Excellence, in Park City, Utah.

The deal will last for four years and includes the build-up to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, which are due to take place between February 9 and 25.

"Our work with the USSA in the past was powerful and our future partnership is just as promising," said Blue Diamond’s chief executive officer Mark Jansen.

"We’re on track to build our relationship with the next generation of American athletes and to build our brand with the next generation of almond fans."

USSA chief marketing officer Michael Jaquet said the partnership is "very exciting".

"We continue to seek out sponsors that want to activate their brands and products with our athletes and events in unique and authentic ways," he said.

"Integrating Blue Diamond Almonds into our High Performance programme at the Center of Excellence and then telling that story through digital, social and television assets helps us on many fronts.

"We can now do this for the next four years, which will be very impactful to our programmes."
