Lindsey Vonn appears to be on schedule to return to action in time for the new year after posting a video online of her continued rehabilitation from an arm break she suffered at the start of last month.

The Vancouver 2010 downhill Olympic champion crashed in training and underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured humerus bone in her right arm, forcing her out of action.

"I had successful surgery last night in Vail and everyone took great care of me," she shared on social media last month after the incident.

"While I am beyond frustrated by this latest setback, at least my knees are OK, and I will return to the slopes as soon as possible, as I always do."

However, it seems her rehabilitation is on track after she shared a short video of herself doing pull ups using her right arm with the caption "making progress".

The first event in January is scheduled for Maribor in Slovenia on January 7 and 8 before competition heads to Altenmarkt-Zauchensee in Austria a week later where Vonn is the defending champion in the downhill and combined events.

The 32-year-old holds the record of being one of just six women to have won World Cup races in all five disciplines of alpine skiing – downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined.

Vonn was ruled out for the a large part of last season as well after she suffered a fractured leg during a crash in Andorra.

The American was injured during the super-G event at the World Cup in Soldeu in February but competed in the Alpine combined competition the following day, despite the hairline fracture.
