Richard Leman and Sir Hugh Robertson are due to lock horns in the battle to replace Sebastian Coe as chairman of the British Olympic Association (BOA) in elections held during a Board meeting tomorrow.

A final vote will take place at the end of the private meeting in London which media will not be allowed to attend.

Sir Hugh, involved with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in a political role as Sports Minister, was appointed as vice-chairman of the BOA 12 months ago.

Leman is standing for the second time after he initially put himself forward against Coe in 2012, only to withdraw.

The President of Great Britain Hockey was part of the Olympic gold medal winning Great Britain hockey squad at Seoul 1988.

Four years earlier Leman also won an Olympic bronze medal at Los Angeles 1984.

Both individuals have had the opportunity to produce a short manifesto statement for all National Olympic Committee (NOC) members to consider prior to the election meeting.

Both will then be able to address the full membership of the BOA, which includes representatives from member federations, who will vote for their preferred candidate.

Coe is relinquishing the post after one four-year term in office in order to focus upon his position as President of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

A BOA quarterly Board meeting is also due to take place tomorrow alongside the NOC meeting.

It comes after the BOA were awarded the most successful National Olympic Committee of Rio 2016 award at last weeks Association of National Olympic Committees Awards Gala in Doha after finishing second on the medals table at the Brazilian Games.

Their haul, which consisted of 27 gold, 23 silver and 17 bronze, marked the first time a country had ever improved upon their medals tally in the next Games after they had played host.
