Law firm Hogan Lovells have extended a services partnership with the British Paralympic Association (BPA) until 2020.

The London and Washington D.C.-based company have served as the official legal services provider of the BPA since 2008.

They will continue this support "across all areas" through a four-year cycle including Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020.

They become the first of the BPA’s commercial partners to renew its relationship for the next quadrennial.

"We've been strong supporters of the BPA, its mission to make the UK the leading Paralympic nation, and its vision to inspire a better world for disabled people for several years now," said Hogan Lovells chairman Nicholas Cheffings.

"Continuing in the role of official legal services provider through to Tokyo 2020 is a natural extension of our commitment not only to the BPA, but to supporting the Para-sport community in the UK and globally.

"We share the BPA's vision and we are very proud of the work we have done and will continue to do."

Hogan Lovells has provided the BPA with legal advice, secondments - including in-Games legal support - and volunteers across many different areas.

They also support ParalympicsGB athletes on an individual basis, including swimmer Ollie Hynd and sprinter Sophie Hahn.

"The BPA’s relationship with Hogan Lovells is longstanding and important and their support since before London 2012, particularly their contributions in areas such as contracts and intellectual property, has proved invaluable," said BPA chief executive Tim Hollingsworth.

"They have been a great help in the run up to and during Rio, and I am delighted that we can expect the same support through until Tokyo 2020.

"They are very much part of the Paralympic Family here in the UK."
