Olympic bronze medallist Igor Radivilov of Ukraine secured his second gold medal of the season-opening International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Individual Apparatus World Cup event as he added the vault title to his rings crown in Cottbus today.

Hungarian Zsófia Kovács, who participated at Rio 2016, also left the Lausitz Arena Cottbus with two wins to her name, mastering the tricky balance beam to go alongside her uneven bars triumph yesterday.

Radivilov, third at the Olympic Games in London in the vault discipline, comfortably outscored the rest of the field with an average of 15.266 points from his two attempts.

The Ukrainian proved too strong for the other seven competitors in the final as silver medallist Adria Vera Mora of Spain ended with 14.633.

Bronze went the way of Tomi Tuuha of Finland as his vaults were given an average of 14.583.

German duo Andreas Bretschneider and Carina Kröll ensured the host nation finished the opening Individual Apparatus World Cup of the campaign in style as they each claimed a gold medal.

Bretscheider, who represented the country at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, clinched victory in the men’s high bar event with a score of 15.166.

His total saw him finish above Yuya Kamoto, a three-time Asian Games champion, as the Japanese was agonisingly shy of top spot on 15.100.

Kröll had earlier led a one-two from the German team in the floor final, beating team-mate Leah Griesser thanks to recording a score of 13.700.

Griesser was second on 13.633, with Emily Little of Australia’s 13.533 enough for the bronze medal.

It could have been even better for Kröll as she was beaten in the balance beam competition by Kovács' score of 13.933.

The German was forced to settle for silver after her routine was rewarded with 13.266 by the judges, while Kovács’ compatriot Dorina Boeczoego claimed bronze.

Japan’s Kamoto was the winner of the men’s parallel bars on a commanding 15.366 points, with Slovenia’s Alen Dimic and team-mate Naoto Hayasaka clinching silver and bronze respectively.
