Kuwaiti shooters dominated the men's trap event at the sixth Asian Shotgun Championships at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi, as they claimed all three medals today.

On the second day of action in the United Arab Emirates, Khaled Al-Mudhaf claimed gold in the men's trap final.

Al-Mudhaf, who won the gold medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championships in Lahti in 2002, claimed his first continental title.

After yesterday's opening stages, India's Prithviraj Tondaiman led the field after shooting three perfect rounds of 25.

Overnight he had a one point lead over former world champion Al-Mudhaf, who is competing as an independent shooter with his country suspended from the sporting world due to Government interference.

His compatriot Talal Al-Rasheedi, who competed at the London 2012 Olympic Games where he finished 26th in the qualification rounds, took the silver medal.

The Kuwaiti dominance was complete when Abdulraman Al-Fayhan secured bronze.

Team gold was then collected by the three Kuwaiti shooters with India and Lebanon taking silver and bronze respectively in that category.

This is the second successful day for Kuwaitis after Sara Al-Hawwal won the first individual medal at the Championships yesterday in the women's trap event.

Kuwait’s women team, including sisters Sara and Shahad Al-Hawwal and Asmaa Al-Qattami, also won the silver in the women's trap event yesterday.

Tomorrow (November 5) is a rest day while double trap action then takes place on Sunday (November 6).

Skeet competitions will bring the tournament to a close with the women's event taking place on November 8 with the men's event scheduled for the following day.
