Shortlists for the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey Revolution Awards have been announced ahead of the organisation's conference in Dubai.

The Etienne Glichitch Award has three contenders, with the honour set to be bestowed on an individual, National Association or Continental Federation who has "developed hockey through innovative ideas or the professional approach of their organisation".

England Hockey and the German Hockey Federation are two of the nominees for the award, with the list completed by Norman Hughes.

Hughes currently holds the post of continental development officer for Europe, while he also won an Olympic bronze for Britain at the Los Angeles 1984 Games.

Eight federations are also in contention for the Pablo Negre Trophy, which looks to honour organisations for "making a significant mark through innovative programmes or embracing the spirit of hockey through exceptional sportsmanship".

Ghana, Malawi, Pakistan, Peru, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Thailand and the United States are all nominated for the prize.

Peru and the Solomon Islands have also earned a nomination for the Theo Ykema Award, an honour aimed at recognising federations which have inspired, developed and enriched hockey in their countries through various initiatives.

They will also face competition from Bangladesh for the award.

Argentina men’s hockey team, the Olympic champions, face competition from both Guyana men’s and women’s sides for the Super Fair Play Trophy, while Argentina’s women’s player Laura Pigretti is also in contention for the prize.

Japan’s Fumio Ogura and Usama Javed, from the Expatriates Association of Saudi Arabia, are the two nominees for the Sultan Azlan Shah Award.

This award aims to acknowledges achievements in hockey and professional careers.

The Guust Lathouwers Memorial Trophy will also be presented in Dubai, with nominees for the award, which honours those who have boosted the development of umpires, set to be revealed on the night.

Held on November 11, the awards ball will take place at the Armani Hotel and will feature public presentations of the Hockey Revolution Awards for the first time.

The awards form part of the FIH's Hockey Revolution Part 2 Conference, where three candidates will hope to replace Leandro Negre as President on November 12.

These are Australia’s Ken Read, India’s Narinder Batra and Ireland’s David Balbirnie.
