Canadian Olympian Melissa Pagnotta and Summer Youth Olympic Games gold medallist Kendall Yount were among the attendees at the seventh International Sport Taekwondo Training Camp in Chicago.

A number of American taekwondo clubs were represented at the three-day camp, while members of the Canada and Trinidad and Tobago national teams were also present.

Pagnotta, welterweight silver medallist at the World Grand Prix in Moscow last year and who competed at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and Yount were on hand to give valuable skills and experience to participants.

Yount, winner of the gold medal at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, inspired the female attendees as she continually beat male taekwondo players.

"The 7th International Sport Taekwondo Camp is an experience focused on making taekwondo athletes stronger both on the mats and off," the 18-year-old said.

"Experienced coaches and athletes come together to cultivate an amazing environment to develop and learn.

"Even after 13 years of training, I always leave this camp with new friends and new ideas to implement."

Children from as young as six gathered in Chicago for the camp, with USA Taekwondo coach Christina Bayley hailing it as the most successful edition ever after over 150 athletes participated.

"Coach Jeffery Williams and I love helping athletes to higher levels," Bayley said.

"Our passion and love for Olympic taekwondo helps us connect to athletes and coaches all over the world.

"Our vision of betterment and evolution is always there.

"Our camp provides strategies and tactics to help bring our vision to reality.

"Coach Williams and I are like two peas in a pod.

"We want what's best for athletes plain and simple.

"I'm proud to be able to work with coach Williams and call him a friend."
