European Taekwondo Union (ETU) President Sakis Pragalos has met with London 2012 Olympic champion Milica Mandic during the Serbia Open in Belgrade.

The Greek official attended the two-day competition in the Sports Hall Pionir in order to meet athletes and administrators involved in the sport in Serbia.

This included Mandic, the London 2012 over 67 kilograms champion, who was not competing but was present to add her support.

Mandic lost in the quarter-finals at Rio 2016 to Britain's eventual bronze medal winner Bianca Walkden.

In her competitive absence, the host nation were unable to win a senior level gold medal at the annual event.

Nikola Vuckovic came closest in a 11-10 defeat to Croatia's Andrun Razic in the men's under 63kg final.

Milos Gladovic also lost 10-4 to Spaniard Adrian Guerro in the under 58kg competition and Ana Bajic was beaten 6-0 by Britain's Jade Slavin in the women's under 73kg final.

Britain claimed a second gold medal courtesy of Peter Longobardi at under 68kg.

He beat Orhan Guler of Turkey 5-4 in a tightly contested final.
