Turkey have been announced as the hosts of the International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) European Football Championships for partially sighted players.

The competition, due to take place in December, is set to take place in the city of Antalya.

Hosted by the Turkish Blind Sports Federation (GESFED), the event will open to players with a B2 or B3 classification.

Round robin matches are scheduled to take place from December 12 and 14, with the placing and semi-final ties due to be decided the following day.

The final and bronze medal matches will complete the tournament on December 16, while a Closing Ceremony will also take place.

Spain will begin as the defending champions having beaten Russia 2-1 in the 2014 final, which took place in Italy.

The podium on that occasion was completed by Ukraine, who will expect to challenge again when the 2016 event gets underway.

The IBSA have stated participating countries are required to have a "good standing" with the governing body, while players must have a valid licence.

Sight classification for new players and those whose status requires review will take place on December 10 and 11 ahead of the tournament getting underway.

Participating countries have been requested to ensure medical documents required to carry out the tests are uploaded to the IBSA Sport Administration System ahead of the event.
