More than 20 companies and businesses from a variety of industries attended an athletes' career exhibition organised by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong (SF&OC).

Taking place at Olympic House in Causeway Bay, the exhibition was the latest offering of the Hong Kong Athletes Career and Education Programme (HKACEP).

Its aim is to help athletes find work once they have retired from competition, as well as to strengthen the athletes-employers network.

Among the companies and businesses represented at the event were MTR Corporation Limited, New World Development Company Limited, Hopewell Holdings Limited and DHL Express (Hong Kong) Limited.

All those present provided the latest job market information and job opportunities through career-related seminars and workshops, information booths and a newly-launched online job seeking platform.

Ronnie Wong Man-chiu, honorary secretary general of the SF&OC, thanked the different Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government departments, corporates and education institutes for their support.

He hopes the exhibition will enable athletes to continue to contribute to society after their retirement from competition.

Thanks to the efforts of the HKACEP, the SF&OC claims Hong Kong now has a talent pool of keen and ambitious athletes who are ready to join the workforce.

HKACEP was founded in 2008 and has benefited more than 1,000 athletes from 45 sports.
