The 2016 International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) Artistic Roller Skating World Championships concluded in Novara today as the hosts, Italy, cemented their dominance with yet another gold medal.

After a busy week of competition the final two events took place today.

In the quartet competition, the Italian representatives "Celebrity" secured another gold medal for the hosts with a routine that scored a total of 135.800 points.

The Portuguese team titled "RM" were left trailing behind in silver medal position after their routine could not match the Italians', scoring 130.900 points.

On a successful day for Spain they claimed their first medal in the final two events in the quartet competition.

"C.P. Parets" produced an impressive routine which saw them awarded 129.500 points which was enough to take the bronze medal.

Proceedings on the ice in Novara were then brought to an end with the large groups competition.

Adding to their earlier bronze medal, Spain rounded off an excellent day by taking both the gold and silver medals.

The routine by one their representatives, "C.P.A. OLOT", earned them a total of 137.500 points which was enough to beat the rest of the field and secure the gold medal.

The silver medal was narrowly won by another Spanish group "C.P.A. Girona" who edged out Italians "Diamante" by 0.400 points.

The Spaniards' routine earned them a total of 133.900 which was just enough to finish above the host nation team who scored 133.500.
