The World Air Sports Federation (FAI) have signed a four-year deal to make DHL their official logistics partner.

DHL are part of the worldwide logistics provider Deutsche Post DHL Group, and offer a range of services in logistics, haulage and storage.

The FAI and DHL will work together with a central focus on event logistics, following the signing of the agreement in Gladbach, Germany.

"We welcome this four-year commitment from DHL, which we see as a natural fit for the world of air sports," said John Grubbström, FAI President.

"Like DHL, we are always moving in our sports - whether on the ground or in the air."

The FAI will hope to ultilise the extensive experience of subsidiary company DHL Trade Fairs & Events, who boast a global network.

The unit exclusively deal with trade fairs and events goods, offering a 24-hour service across their 24 branches worldwide.

Vincenzo Scrudato, global managing director of DHL Trade Fairs & Events, believes the agreement will prove to be of great value to FAI members over the next four years.

"We are happy to become part of the world air sport community which includes fantastic competitions and activities," he said.

"With our global network of transportation specialists we are able to provide the best solutions for the air sport persons as well as to the FAI members, the local organisers and the whole federation.

"DHL will assist in transport and also in questions on customs, dangerous goods handling and packaging through its specific knowledge of air sports."
