The tournament, due to be held in 13 cities across the continent including London, Munich, Rome and Amsterdam, will mark the 60th anniversary of the competition.

London’s Wembley Stadium will play host to the semi-finals and final in July 2020, with a main logo for the tournament created and individual artwork designed for each host city.

UEFA selected Y&R as the creative team to work on the project following an international pitch.

The main logo includes a bridge motif which will be incorporated into each host city’s logo, while the city logos will also include monuments, historic buildings and the stadium where the games will take place.

London and Rome have revealed their branding, with a ceremony in the Italian capital attended by both the Mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, and newly elected UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin of Slovenia.

Raggi recently made headlines by refusing to back Rome's 2024 Olympic and Paralympic bid, essentially ending the city's hopes for eight years' time.

The Italian capital's Stadio Olimpico will host a number of group stage matches and a quarter-final encounter during Euro 2020.

"We are really glad to be in a country where football is so important," said Čeferin.

"In 60 years, the Euro has become one of the major sporting events in the world, and this tournament will give us the perfect opportunity to bring football to the four corners of the continent.

"We are finally returning to the Eternal City.

"It will be a wonderful trip, an unforgettable experience. It's wonderful when football is like a bridge."

Matches at the tournament is also scheduled to be played in Baku, Bilbao, Brussels, Budapest, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow and Saint Petersburg. 

Portugal are the defending champions after winning Euro 2016 in France this summer.
