The film, unveiled today, was shown for the first time at USA House during Rio 2016, where Los Angeles 2024 had an exhibit.

It includes children from Los Angeles describing their “dream city” alongside pictures of some of the city’s most iconic places and landmarks, such as beaches, mountains, cultural attractions, motion picture studios and sporting venues.

The Bid Committee claim the video depicts the “forward-looking spirit of innovation, creativity and optimism” of the city of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles 2024 chairman Casey Wasserman pledged to offer an “innovative Games reimagined for entertainment and sustainability, and an authentic connection to young people around the world using their own means and on their own terms” in a column posted today.

It has also been announced that Los Angeles 2024 will hold their seventh athlete town hall meeting, which are used to drive enthusiasm for the bid and allow American competitors to give feedback on their efforts to bring the Summer Games to the country for the first time since Atlanta 1996, later this month.

The gathering will be led by Los Angeles 2024 vice-chair and director of athlete relations Janet Evans and is scheduled to take place in Washington D.C.

It is due to be held after Team USA Olympians and Paralympians are honoured for their achievements at Rio 2016 at the White House on September 29.

“Over the past year, we have really enjoyed meeting with many Angelenos, US and international athletes and global sports leaders to understand what it takes to create a high tech, low risk and sustainable new Games for a new era,” Wasserman said.

“With one year to go, we are even more convinced that Los Angeles 2024 is the right bid, in the right place, at the right time to bring the Games back to the US for the first time in 28 years.

“We're excited to spend the year ahead celebrating our community's Olympic spirit, promoting the new Los Angeles around the world, listening and learning from the Olympic family and finalising our plans to put California's innovation and creativity at the service of the Olympic Movement.”

The IOC will elect their chosen 2024 host city on September 13, 2017 at its Session in Lima.

Budapest, Paris and Rome are also bidding, though doubts continue to mount over the Italian capital’s attempt due to opposition from Mayor Virginia Raggi.

“Creativity and innovation are at the centre of how Los Angeles 2024 communicates not only with global youth, but also with our extensive network of US and international Olympians and Paralympians,” Evans said.

“It is vital to LA 2024 that athletes' input shapes every aspect of our bid.

“That's why on September 29, we will be hosting our seventh Athlete Town Hall meeting in Washington DC with the Olympians and Paralympians returning from the Rio 2016 Games so they can share their feedback and ideas to help us to create the most personalised athlete experience in history."
