The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has extended its long-running partnership with Adidas for the next eight years, which will extend the collaboration to more than 50 years.

The German sportswear giant will provide competition apparel and training wear to all of the country's Olympians for the next four editions of the Games. 

The revised deal will cover the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo, the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, and the 2024 Summer Games, which will take place in either Budapest, Los Angeles, Paris or Rome.

Additionally, Adidas will support the DOSB youth initiatives and events. 

Financial terms of the deal have not been released.

Germany won a total of 44 Olympic medals at London 2012, made up of 11 golds, 19 silvers and 14 bronzes.

The country has so far won 14 medals at Rio 2016, including seven gold.

Other medallist have included rowers Philipp Wende, Lauritz Schoof, Karl Schulz and Hans Gruhne in the men's quadruple sculls and shooter Barbara Engleder also secured gold for Germany with success in the women's 50 metres rifle three positions.
