Saadeldin Abouaish came from behind to beat Iranian Sajad Zareian and progress to the last eight of the World Junior Squash Championships.

After finding himself a game down, the Egyptian recovered to level before several refereeing decisions went Abouaish's way, allowing him to book his place in the next around in just over an hour, 7-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-7, 11-7.

He was joined in the quarters by two more Egyptians. Youssef Ibrahim got the better of Frenchman Victor Crouin in four close games, 11-4, 12-10, 7-11, 11-7.

He crucially saved game balls in the second to take a two game lead, whilst Marwan Tarek produced the shock of the round as he overcame Jordanian Mohamad Al Sarraj 11-9, 11-9, 11-9.

Abouaish now meets Frenchman Benjamin Aubert, Tarek faces Pakistan's Israr Ahmed, and Ibrahim meets Japan's Ryunosuke Tsukue who all won in straight games.

Second seeded Malaysian Eain Yow Ng now meets Velavan Senthilkumar after both players dispatched unseeded opposition in Tom Walsh and Kashif Asif respectively.

The women's draw went precisely to seeding expectations with the top eight all claiming their expected quarter-final places.

The Egyptian quintet was reduced to four as defending champion Nouran Gohar beat compatriot Zeina Mickawy 11-6, 11-5, 11-3 in the opening match.

Fellow Egyptians Hania El Hammamy, Rowna El Araby and Amina Yousry all won with ease.

Gohar now faces New Zealand's Eleanor Epke who had the most convincing win of the round as she dismissed Zoe Foo in a mere 19 minutes, 11-6, 11-4, 11-3.

Yousry takes on Malaysia's Siva Subramaniam and El Araby, who beat America's Marina Stefanoni with increasing authority, will meet Malaysia's Andrea Lee, who needed all five games to deny Japan a quarter-finalist in Satomi Watanabe in just under an hour's play.

El Hammamy will meet the only European left in the draw in England's Amelia Henley, who survived a tough four-game battle against Belgian Tinne Gilis in a repeat of their European championship final.
