Snowsport Scotland have announced that its Annual Coaching Summit will be held in Renfrew on August 27 and 28.

The event will take place at the Snow Factor venue and is designed to bring all members of the snow-sports community together, including coaches, instructors, athletes and members of the general public.

Those taking part are invited to gain knowledge as well as update core qualifications, with top coaches on hand to deliver courses.

New chief executive Rob Claridge said: “We are delighted to be hosting this event again, which in past years has always been extremely successful.

"Not only will the two days be educational for attendees, they also promise to be a lot of fun with like-minded individuals meeting together to share their knowledge and experience.

“Our members and also non-members with a keen interest in the sport are very important to us and we believe events such as this enables them to progress and continually improve their skillset.

"It can be very easy to slip into bad habits and refresher courses such as this - which is valid for a year - allows coaches and leaders the chance to improve their skills and techniques in an open and interactive environment to ensure they continue to deliver their coaching to the highest possible standards."

The event will be opened by Professor Dave Collins of the University of Central Lancashire, who will be keynote speaker.

Neil MacGrain, coach education manager at Snowsport Scotland said: “The coaching summit is a great opportunity to enhance attendees coaching knowledge outside of the usual technical requirements of the sport providing a strong networking opportunity with other coaches who have a vast range of skillsets.”
