Pyeongchang 2018 will have a presence on the famous Copacabana Beach during the Rio Olympics, it has been announced.

The Winter Olympics in South Korea will be the next Games after action is concluded in the Brazilian City, with competition under two years away.

A kiosk on the famous stretch of sand, where beach volleyball will be held during the Rio Games, will be turned into "Pyeongchang 2018 House".

Once inside, visitors will be able to "envision and experience" the atmosphere expected at Pyeongchang 2018, using a range of the latest technology.

This will include being able to ski jump using 4D virtual reality equipment.

Organisers hope to show off the "beauty" of South Korea and its culture with sand art and exhibitions set to be featured.

There will also be Korean food tasting and K-Pop music.

"I greatly support the successful hosting of the Rio Games," said Pyeongchang 2018 President Lee Hee-beom.

"I wish the best to all of the participants.

"Please also remember that the very next edition of the Olympic Games will be held in Pyeongchang in 2018.

"I would like to invite everyone to the Pyeongchang 2018 House in Rio, to feel the Winter and the next Winter Games in advance, and taste the beauty of Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province and Korea."

The House will open in Rio on August 6, one day after the Opening Ceremony, and will close on August 21.

It will then re-open during the Paralympic Games in September.

A "mobile" house will also tour South America to promote the Games to a continent which has little exposure to Winter sports.

It will visit Brazilian cities São Paulo and Foz do Iguaçu, as well as Buenos Aires and Mendoza in Argentina and Chile's capital Santiago.
