Czech Republic earned their fourth International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) Inline Hockey World Championships title in six years after easing to victory over the host nation at the Hodegart Arena Asiago.

Italy had been hoping to replicate their 4-3 victory over the Czech’s in the group stage of the competition, but they were dominated throughout the duration of the gold medal contest.

Jakub Bernard opened the scoring for the Czech Republic after nine minutes of the contest, with Marek Loskot doubling the advantage moments later.

The defending champions were able to put the contest beyond their opponents when Martin Fiala added a third goal, before Loskot scored his second to complete a straightforward 4-0 victory.

France earned the bronze medal after recording a 5-2 victory over the United States.

"These have been the most attended Worlds ever and, for the Finals, the Hodegart Arena was sold out,” said FIRS President Sabatino Aracu.

Italy had ended the Championships with double disappointment after losing 2-0 in the junior women’s final, with the winners Spain completing the tournament with an unbeaten record of eight straight wins.

Canada claimed the bronze medal after overcoming Finland 4-3.
