Greece recorded a second win in as many days at the International Swimming Federation (FINA) men’s Water Polo World League Super Final in Huizhou, giving them the outright lead in Group A.

Having beaten Japan yesterday, the Greeks produced a confident display to overcome Italy 15-4 at the Huizhou Jinshan Lake Swimming and Diving Hall.

Australia, meanwhile, bounced back from their defeat against Italy yesterday to triumph 13-7 at the expense of Japan.

In Group B, defending champions Serbia made it two wins out of two with a 20-5 victory over hosts China.

They are joined on six points by the United States, who registered a 10-7 win over last year’s bronze medallists Brazil.

Group matches are due to draw to a close tomorrow with all of the teams advancing to the quarter-final stage of the competition.

Greece meet Australia in Group A knowing a win will secure first place, while Japan face Italy.

The winner of Serbia’s clash with the US will top Group B with Brazil and China going up against each other in a bid to avoid finishing bottom.

The teams that finish top of the standings will meet the lowest-ranked team in the corresponding group in the quarter-finals, which are due to take place on Friday (June 24).

Semi-final action is scheduled for the following day, before the competition concludes with the gold and bronze medal matches on Sunday (June 26).
