World Archery Europe vice-president Vladimir Esheev was re-elected during the body’s Elective Congress which took place ahead of the European Outdoor Championships in Nottingham.

The Russian was first elected to the post back in 2000 and has since been re-elected on four occasions, with his latest victory coming over Viktor Junior Sidorouk, who had been nominated by the Ukrainan Archery Federation.

Esheev received a total of 40 votes from the Congress, which was attended by delegates from 43 different countries.

He will now serve as the vice-president from 2016 to 2020.

Denmark’s Rolf Lind was reconfirmed as an Executive Board member after securing 35 votes, the same number as Britain’s Hilda Gibson, who was also elected.

Dominique Ohlmann of France and Spain’s Vicente Martinez-Orga earned 28 and 23 votes respectively to join the Executive Board.

Lind, Gibson and Ohlmann will serve four-year terms, while Orga will be on the board until 2018.

Belgium’s Jean Martens, Denmark’s Klaus Lykkebaek, Italy’s Luca Stucchi were elected to World Archery Europe’s Judges Committee, having seen off competition from Turkey’s Macide Bozoglu Erdener, Germany’s Friedrich Karle and Petrou Petros of Cyprus.

Also unsuccessful were France’s Cristophe Pezet, Greece’s Katerina Plakouda, Britain’s Susan Richards, the Netherlands’ Henk Wagemakers and Anna Reitmeier from the Czech Repbulic.

The three nominated candidates for the Development and Technical Assistance Committee were all successful, with Greece’s Evelyn Papadopoulou, Austria’s Bettina Kratzmueller and France’s Patrick Lebeau all being elected.

Slovenia’s Irena Rosa, Italy’s Paola Bertone and Sweden’s Gullimar Akerlund were all elected to the Youth Development Committee, while Italy’s Stefano Tombesi, Finland’s Hannu Kari and Austria’s Helmut Poell have joined the Field and 3D Committee.
