Singapore's Feng Tianwei ended a two-year drought on the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Tour by claiming women's singles victory at the Slovania Open in Otocec today.

She produced a superb performance to overcome South Korea's fifth-seed Jeon Juhee in a six-set final.

It marked a first win since she beat home player Kasumi Ishikawa to win the Japan Open in June 2014 and the eighth World Tour singles success of her career.

Feng, part of the Singapore squad that upset China to win the 2010 world team title, took advantage of the absence of the Chinese on European soil to outlast a tough opponent.

After winning the first set, 11-9, she lost the next two 8-11, 10-12 before her quality began to tell.

She won the next three games 11-3, 11-5, 11-8 for a 4-2 victory.

Japan's Jun Mizutani also benefited from the absence of the Chinese to win a high-quality men's singles final.

The world number six went 2-1 and 3-2 down against seventh ranked opponent Chuang Chih-yuan of Taiwan.

But the left hander battled hard to eventually prevail in seven sets, 11-9, 5-11, 8-11, 11-3, 10-12, 11-6, 11-9.
