Diego Ulissi won his second stage of this year's Giro d'Italia as Bob Jungels stayed in the overall lead today.

Italian Ulissi, who previously triumphed on stage four, added the stage 11 victory after sprinting to glory in Asolo.

The 26-year-old was part of a three-man break alongside Luxembourg's Jungels and Costa Rican rider Andrey Amador.

In the end it was Ulissi who timed his push for the line the best as he recorded his sixth stage victory at his home Grand Tour.

The Lampre-Merida rider finished the stage, which followed a 212 kilometre route from Modena, in 4 hours 56min 32sec.

Amador finished second with Jungels third, with both riders on the same time.

A bunch sprint had been forecast on the mostly flat stage, but the peloton split apart.

Etixx-Quick-Step rider Jungels collected four bonus seconds for his finishing third, but his overall advantage in the Maglia Rosa jersey has been cut to 24 seconds as nearest rival Amador received six for finishing second.

Movistar's Alejandro Valverde, one of the favourites for overall victory, is third in the general classification but is 1:07 behind Jungels after arriving 13 seconds later.

The race continues tomorrow with another flat stage, covering 168km from Noale to Bibione.
