Slovakia’s Veronika Vadovicova secured her second gold medal at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Shooting World Cup in Polish city Szczecin after winning the R2 10 metres air rifle standing women SH1 event.

The 33-year-old posted a winning total of 206.8 points to successfully follow up her triumph in yesterday’s R3 10m air rifle prone mixed SH1.

Australia’s Natalie Smith came second with 203.9 points, while Russia’s Svetlana Dementyeva finished third with 183.3.

In the R4 10m air rifle standing mixed SH2, Australia's Luke Cain achieved first place with 211.6 points, closely followed by New Zealand's Michael Johnson with 211.5 and then Great Britain's Ryan Cockbill with 189.4.

The competition in Szczecin provides the final chance for athletes to shoot at a World Cup ahead of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Although Rio 2016 quota places have already been decided, athletes are looking to impress their national coaches as they look to secure their spots at the Paralympics, where competition will take place from September 8 to 14.
