Two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan beat fellow Chinese Chen Long in straight games to claim his sixth Badminton World Federation (BWF) China Masters title at the Changzhou Olympic Center.

The 32-year-old, who successfully defended his Olympic title at London 2012, overcame the world number one 21-17, 23-21 after 65 minutes in the a BWF Grand Prix Gold event.

Lin twice came from behind in the second game, recovering from deficits of 11-16 and 19-20 to emerge triumphant. 

Victory ensures Lin his third men’s singles titles of the year, having won the German Open and All-England Open last month, and extends his head-to-head record against Chen to 8-2.

There was also an all-Chinese final in the women’s singles competition as Olympic champion Li Xuerui defeated Sun Yu 21-16, 19-21, 21-6.

China’s Xu Chen and Ma Jin justified their number one seeding in the mixed doubles by overcoming compatriots Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen in the final, 21-17, 21-15. 

Luo Ying and Luo Yu did likewise in the women’s doubles showdown, beating Chen and Jia Yifan 16-21, 21-15, 21-18 in another all-Chinese encounter.

South Korea’s Yoo Yeon Seong and Lee Yong Dae, the world number one men’s doubles pairing, gained revenge over fellow countrymen Kim Sa Rang and Kim Gi Jung for their recent Malaysian Open semi-final loss with a 21-17, 21-14 win ensuring top honours.
