Iran's Kimia Alizadeh swept to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with a superb victory today as the Asian Olympic Taekwondo Qualification Tournament concluded in Manila.

Fighters from China, Jordan and Kazakhstan also claimed gold.

Alizadeh, who beat Britain's reigning Olympic champion Jade Jones en-route to a bronze medal at last year's World Championships in Chelyabinsk, beat Thailand's Phannapa Harnsujin in the under 57 kilograms final.

The 17-year-old will be competing at her first Games, although she won under 63kg gold at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing. 

Neema Gurung of Nepal and Pauline Lopez of Philippines shared the two bronze medals.

Kazakhstan's Turkish-born Cansel Deniz claimed under 67kg gold after overcoming Nigora Tursunkulova.

Hà Thị Nguyên of Vietnam and Julyana Al-Sadeq of Jordan took the final two positions on the podium.

On the men's side, Zhao Shuai claimed the second Chinese gold of the week with under 58kg victory.

He beat Tawin Hanprab of Thailand in the final as Sergio Suzuki of Japan's and Yemen's Yahya Ayash took the two bronzes.

Ahmad Abu-Ghaush of Jordan secured under 68kg honours on a day in which no one nation was able to dominate.

Mongolia's Pürevjavyn Temüüjin was forced to settle for silver.

Peerathep Sila-on of Thailand and Taiwan's Chang Cheng-hao each took bronze.
