Lukas Hinder, the new President of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), has met with Thomas Bach in Lausanne, where he updated him on his sport's own vision of Agenda 2020.

The meeting with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President was held at the request of Hinder.

The Swiss updated Bach on recent developments, including of his own appointment to replace Spain's Carlos Freitag after he stepped down in January because of health issues.

This included revealing details of the 2020 VISION process that WDSF is currently putting much of its efforts into.

Hinder compared it to the IOC’s own Agenda 2020 and claimed the WDSF had already implemented many of the recommendations thanks to 2020 VISION.

Hinder told Bach he planned to stand for formal election to a one-year term at the 2016 General Meeting this June – ahead of the regular elections scheduled in 2017.

The different programmes that Hinder and the entire WDSF Presidium are working on over the coming months should all be marked by improved coordination and transparency to ensure maximum benefit for the whole of the dancesport community, he claimed.

With a view to the practical aspects of running the organisation efficiently and in compliance with the standards of modern management, Hinder informed Bach of the intentions to reinforce the WDSF headquarters in Switzerland and to maintain the branch office in Spain.

A separate meeting was also held in Lausanne with Jenny Mann, the IOC's head of sport partnerships and coordination.
