Russian duo Tagir Murtazaev and Anna Korobeynikova defeated British pair Kristof Willerton and Lucie Colebeck to regain the men’s and women’s individual tumbling titles respectively on the final day of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) Trampoline Championships at the Pisuerga Sports Centre in Valladolid in Spain today.

Murtazaev performed when it mattered to top the podium in the men’s tumbling discipline by recording a score of 78,100 points, a slender 0.400 in front of defending champion Willerton.

Grogory Noskov added yet another medal to the Russian haul as he scored 77,000 points for bronze.

Korobeynikova also rose to the occasion in the women’s individual tumbling final as her superb routine yielded a score of 67,700 points to condemn Colebeck, winner of the European title in 2014, to the silver medal position.

Colebeck’s team-mate Rachel Davies continued the impressive showing from the British team in Valladolid by securing bronze as she registered 66,600 points.

The 2014 champion Mikhail Zalomin of Russia comfortably retained his double mini trampoline crown, taking full advantage from a mistake by Belarus’ Aleksander Odintsov, who came off the apparatus on his second pass.

Odintsov had qualified in top position but was no match for the Russian in the final, Zalomin scoring 78,700 points to take the title.

Azerbaijan’s Dmitriy Fedorovskiy made history as he became the first gymnast from his country to win a medal at the European Trampoline Championships, taking home the bronze with a total of 74,100 points.

Lina Sjoeberg of Sweden, bronze medallist at last year’s World Championships, broke the Russian dominance in the women’s event by pipping Polina Troianova to the title after she scored 70,700 points.

Troianova was second, 1,700 points behind the formidable total from the Swede, while Kirsty Way of Britain earned bronze.

Yana Pavlova claimed Russia’s third gold medal on the final day as she won the women’s individual trampoline event with a score of 55,565 points.

Belarus’ Hanna Harchonak was forced to settle for silver on 54,450 points and she was followed on to the podium by Britain's Kat Driscoll.

Following the earlier disappointments for his nation, Uladzislau Hancharou ensured Belarus got their hands on gold as he beat Dmitry Ushakov of Russia to the men’s title by virtue of being awarded 60,585 for his routine.

The medal rush by British gymnasts was maintained by Nathan Bailey’s bronze medal.

Harchonak and team-mate Mikalai Kazak bagged another gold for their country.

They dominated the men’s synchronised trampoline competition on 50,600 points, with Ukrainian duo Dmytro Byedyevkin and Mykola Prostorov doing enough for silver.

Portuguese pair Diogo Abreu and Pedro Ferreira scored 49,700 points for the bronze medal.

Frenchwomen Marine Jurbert and Lea Labrousse secured the women’s honours on a total of 46,000 points, 0.500 in front of Russia's Susana Kochesok and Anna Kornetskaya.

There was a two-way tie for bronze as Portugal’s Ana Rente and Beatriz Martins and Ukrainian counterparts Maryna Kyiko and Nataliya Moskvina were both given 44,800 points.
