The Paralympic bronze medallists overcame Team Pan Pacific 3-0 to ensure that they finished the round-robin phase with three victories from three.

They made a lightning start with Greg Westlake latching onto a Brad Bowden pass to open the scoring with just 12 seconds on the clock.

Westlake then doubled his side's advantage with 90 seconds in the opening period remaining, finishing off a beautiful move which began with Tyler McGregor stripping his opponent of the puck.

He was then able to circle the net before teeing up Westlake, who made no mistake.

A goalless second period followed, but Billy Bridges fired home a loose puck in the third to add some extra gloss to the scoreline.

It was the Canadians' first shut-out of the tournament and they have now booked a repeat match with the US, the Paralympic and world champions, who they beat 2-1 in the round robin phase.

The Americans ensured their place in the final by thrashing South Korea 8-0 on home ice.

Nikko Landeros gave his side the lead against the Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic hosts and the US then ran riot in the second period, scoring six times through Luke McDermott, Declan Farmer, Brody Roybal, Paul Schaus and a double from Adam Page.

Josh Pauls added his name to the scoresheet in the third period to complete the rout.

"It’s going to be a tough game,” said Canada's Westlake, looking ahead to tomorrow's final.

"Anybody who saw that first game against the US saw a real good hockey game.

"We were fortunate enough to win that one, but we have been on the other side of that as well many times.

"It’s not so much how you learn, it’s how prepared and how ready you got to be to show up and win that game.”

Page described the earlier defeat to the Canadians as "tough".

"It was good to get back to our way of playing the game, connect on goals, just get back into the rhythm and play our style of hockey," he said.

"It was good to get this big win."

Before the final, South Korea will play the Pan Pacific side - a combined team featuring players from Japan and the other competing countries - in the battle for the bronze medal.

The Pacific side has been established to aid Japanese development.
