The International Union of Powerboating (UIM) World Champions Awards Ceremony will be held on March 5 in Monte Carlo, it has been announced.

The seventh edition of the annual event will take place at the Sporting Monte-Carlo Hotel and will reward the world’s best drivers.

Awards such as the Stefano Casiraghi Memorial Trophy, the Safety Award, the Sam Griffith Memorial Trophy and the UIM Environmental Award and Special Mentions will all be on offer during the event.

Following the ceremony, the evening will conclude with a gala dinner.

It will be attended by a host of sporting dignitaries, including former athletes, representatives from the organisation’s members and other International Federations.

Prince Albert II of Monaco, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is also scheduled to attend.

“The annual UIM Awards Giving Gala is a great opportunity for the powerboating community to celebrate its legends and champions that are our everyday source of inspiration,” UIM President Raffaele Chiulli said.

“We are very proud to bring together our world champions, key stakeholders from powerboating and a number of special guests in the most prestigious Sporting Monte-Carlo and I am looking forward to another memorable experience together.”

The UIM is a member of the Association of the IOC Recognised International Sports Federations.

The organisation governs all powerboating disciplines, including aqua bike, circuit, offshore, pleasure navigation and radio-controlled.
