England's Katherine Rednall and her partner, Scotland's Darren Burnett, have won the mixed pairs title at the World Indoor Bowls Championships at Potters Resort in Hopton-on-Sea.

For Burnett, it was his second world title in two days having won the men's pairs title with Stewart Anderson at the English resort yesterday.

Burnett and 20-year-old Rednall defeated Scottish duo of Alex Marshall and Julie Forrest 11-5, 14-9 in the final

Burnett is now chasing a hat-trick of titles as he remains in the men's singles tournament.

“It’s fantastic,” Rednall, winner of the women's singles title in 2014 when she was just 17, said.

“The mixed pairs is one of the most enjoyable events to me in the last few years and I’ve just looked forward to it.

“I lost the weight a little bit in the start of the second set but Darren definitely made up for it, he bowled some cracking bowls to keep us in it.

“I think we’ve played really solid together right throughout the tournament, so it’s just been brilliant.”
