LimbPower is encouraging amputees and people with limb impairments to participate in a sport and physical activity survey.

The British charity are aiming to use the survey to understand the views and experiences of people across the country.

Among the goals of the survey are to help LimbPower find out why people with limb impairments do not currently participate in sport.

They also aim to discover what activities people would like to do in the future, while establishing which sports are already popular.

Another aim is for the National Disability Sports Organisation to gain a greater understanding of the impact wearing a prosthesis, a false limb, has on an individual’s likelihood to take part in sport.

“I would like to encourage all people living with limb loss or limb difference across the UK to complete the online survey,” said Kiera Roche, chief executive of LimbPower.

“The information you provide is really important to enabling us to help shape and improve the provision of sport and physical activity at all levels.

“At LimbPower, we believe regular participation in sport and physical activity can help to improve a person's quality of life, and aid physical, social and psychological rehabilitation.”

The charity have stated they are keen to consult with as many people who have a limb impairment as possible, with their survey expected to take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Each participant in the survey will receive a £5 ($7.15/€6.53) Amazon e-voucher as a thank you for taking part.
