Russia’s Ekaterina Tudegesheva claimed her first International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup parallel slalom win in nearly three years after taking victory in Bad Gastein, Austria.

The former world champion, who finished third in the Italian resort of Carezza last month, found herself trailing Austria’s Julia Dujmovits in the women's final, but the reigning Olympic champion fell a few gates before the finish.

Success ensured Tudegesheva her 13th career triumph but first since topping the podium in Rogla, Slovenia in February 2013.

Austria’s Sabine Schoeffmann completed the top three after overcoming Alena Zavarzina of Russia in the small final.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria's Radoslav Yankov beat Italy’s Maurizio Bormolini in the men’s final to secure his second victory of the season.

Yankov, who won the giant slalom in Carezza, crossed the line nearly two seconds ahead of his opponent.

Bormolini was appearing in his first career final at the age of 21 and currently tops the parallel slalom standings on 1,300 points, with Yankov 10 behind.

Fellow Italian Mirko Felicetti is third on 1,200 points having beaten Austria’s Benjamin Karl in the small final today.

Action in Bad Gastein is due to continue tomorrow with a team event.
