The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has said that the signing of its biggest ever broadcast and commercial agreements was its number one moment of 2015.

The organisation has been counting down its top 50 moments of last year and points to two "landmark" deals as being the most significant.

In June, the IPC awarded NHK exclusive broadcast and exhibition rights in Japan for the Paralympic Games through to 2024, which includes Tokyo 2020.

This was followed in November by a deal with motoring giant Toyota, who became a Worldwide Paralympic Partner in the mobility category until 2024.

IPC President Sir Philip Craven described both agreements as "monumental".

The NHK arrangement is the biggest in Paralympic broadcast history, with the company pledging to deliver the most comprehensive campaign ever by a host organisation during Tokyo 2020.

Toyota's partnership was the first to cover the IPC, all of the National Paralympic Committees and future Paralympic Games under one agreement.

It was also the first time an Olympic TOP partner had showed this much backing for the Paralympic movement.

The second best moment of 2015 in the IPC list went to German long jumper Markus Rehm, who won the T44 title at the IPC World Athletics Championships in Doha with an effort of 8.40 metres.

That would have been enough to win gold at the London 2012 Olympics - which were won by Britain's Greg Rutherford with a jump of 8.31m.

Rehm has spoken of his desire to compete with able-bodied athletes at an Olympics - sparking debate as some say his bladed leg would give him an unfair advantage.

The third best moment was the Rwandan women's sitting volleyball team qualifying for Rio 2016.

They will be the first Africans to compete in the event at a Paralympics.

Last year's top moment was the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics.
