Canada's Mikaël Kingsbury entered the history books with a record 29th career victory at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Moguls World Cup today.

The 23-year-old passed the record he previously shared with 1992 Olympic champion Edgar Grospiron by winning the dual moguls title in the season opening event in Ruka, Finland.

Kingsbury, the Olympic silver medallist who has won the overall freestyle and moguls World Cup titles for the past four editions, saw off the challenge of France's Benjamin Cavet in the final with a 20-15 win.

Third place went to Japan's Ikuma Horishima who defeated another Canadian, Philippe Marquis, to secure a spot on the podium.

Sochi 2014 silver medallist Chloé Dufour-Lapointe of Canada had to make do with bronze after winning the small final against Norway's Hedvig Wessel.

The Moguls World Cup season will now return on January 14, with more action in Lake Placid in the United States.
