Defending champion Anna Holmlund made it back-to-back victories at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Cross World Cup by following up her success in Val Thorens yesterday with another triumph today.

The 28-year-old Swede tasted glory ahead of compatriot Sandra Näslund at the first World Cup meeting at the French resort and made it two out of two by coming home ahead of French racer Alizée Baron second time around.

Holmlund, the bronze medallist at the Sochi 2014 Olympics, came second at the season opening event in Montafon, Austria and tops the overall standings ahead of Canada's Olympic champion Marielle Thompson.

World Championships winner Andrea Limbacher of Austria was third today, as she beat German Heidi Zacher to the line in the four-woman final after both skiers had crashed at the start.

Meanwhile, yesterday's men's winner Christopher Del Bosco of Canada had to settle for third this time around as the victory went to Sochi 2014 champion and World Cup holder Jean-Frédéric Chapuis.

French skier Chapuis delighted his home crowd with his victory, with Austrian Thomas Harasser splitting the duo on the podium by coming second.

German Daniel Bohnacker just missed out on a podium place by finishing fourth.

“Today was a perfect day," said Chapuis.

"To share this with the people of Val Thorens and the fans is just perfect."

Del Bosco, who also won in Montafon, keeps his spot on top of the overall standings with 260 points, ahead of his compatriot Brady Leman who has 180.

Chapuis' victory has lifted him into third with a total of 170.

The Ski Cross World Cup season will now continue with another two events in Innichen, Italy, between December 19 and 20.
