Allianz UK has been announced as the latest partner of the British Paralympic Association (BPA) as they build towards Rio 2016.

The agreement strengthens the insurance provider’s relationship with Paralympic sport, with the Allianz SE Group having been a long-term supporter of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), of which it has been a partner since 2006.

It is hoped the additional support will help to prepare ParalympicsGB for the Rio 2016 Paralympics, where they will be hoping to replicate their success from London 2012, where they finished third on the medals table.

“Allianz have been a long-term supporter of the Paralympic Movement globally and I am absolutely thrilled to welcome them into the Paralympic family here in the United Kingdom,”  said Tim Hollingsworth, chief executive of the BPA.

“As Paralympic sport becomes ever more competitive, their contribution will be incredibly valuable to the team next year and help to support our athletes as they prepare to compete on the biggest stage in disability sport.

“We are delighted to partner with a business which has such a good understanding of the powerful and positive impact of the Paralympic movement and it is fantastic to have them on board at such an exciting and vital time.”
