Fans eager to see the Australian athletes in action at next year’s Games will be able to purchase tickets through authorised ticket reseller CoSport, who will offer a variety of different options to supporters.

Individual seats for the different sports on the programme will be available, as will family tickets and hotel and travel packages, which includes accommodation and flights.

Those who have applied for individual tickets in the first phase will find out if they have been successful tomorrow, with prices due to be confirmed by CoSport in the near future.

The rest will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis before hotel and ticket package sales are due to close on July 16 next year ahead of the Opening Ceremony on September 7.

“We are thrilled to have CoSport on board as the exclusive provider of tickets to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and beyond to Tokyo 2020,” Australia’s Chef de Mission for Rio 2016 Kate McLoughlin said.

“CoSport have an excellent reputation in worldwide sporting events, and we’re confident in their ability to do an incredible job in servicing Australia’s growing Paralympic sport fanbase.”

Australian fans will also be able to purchase seats for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games and Tokyo 2020 through CoSport following the completion of the event in Rio.

Supporters who buy tickets for Rio 2016 will be hoping to see their athletes better their impressive haul of 85 medals at London 2012, which included 32 golds.

The development follows Rio 2016 putting 3.3 million tickets on sale across 23 sports for the Paralympic Games worldwide.

Prices will range from BRL10 (£2/$3/€2.50) for the cheapest seats to BRL1,200 (£215/$340/€300) for the most expensive, which is for the Opening Ceremony.

Two million tickets are priced at BRL30 (£6/$9/€7.50) and if all 3.3 million are sold, Rio 2016 will surpass the 2.8 million which were sold at London 2012.
